Making The         Difference...

The Ortegon School Of Music provides a well- rounded, higher education in music for those in the Chicagoland area. Welcoming students of all ages, levels of ability and backgrounds, the institution now boasts a roster of over 50 and continues to grow all the time.

Johanna Ortegon, founded the school in 2010 to honor the memory of her father and continue his pedagogical ideas and personal teachings. Johanna is an accomplished pianist and vocalist as well as a liturgical music director and the creative director of the Mulati Ensemble. Under her leadership, teachers focus on providing the tools to grow, develop personal talents and discover success while supporting music in all its forms and ways of expression.

While enrolled in the program, students receive expert theory and technical training in not only their instrument of choice but in chamber music and ensembles as well. All the educators are classically trained musicians with years of experience amassed between them and incorporate

various approaches to teaching.

"My daughter started her lessons when she was 6 years old. She used to be very shy. It is amazing the way that music has changed her personality. Now she is a very confident young lady who loves playing the piano at any time"
